Time to go...

Our last entry in this blog is a picture of the whole campsite just before the closing ceremony.

During the ceremony the leaders who organised the six main programme areas were thanked by the assembled participants. All the other leaders and helpers who somehow contributed to the organisation and running of the camp were also thanked.

A video with some of the best photos taken will be published shortly...

Kumbaya

The second full day of activities ended with a campfire. Despite the very informal and sometimes chaotic atmosphere, Leli our energetic (and very hoarse) MC kept things flowing... By the end of it we were all knackered.

Bridges

We heard Mass in the Arena courtesy of Fr. Briffa, who discussed the camp's theme - Building Bridges through Scouting.

We told him to cook chicken... he insisted on spaghetti... the rest is history.

MUD !

Challenge Valley presented its own set of challenges to our participants... and we discovered that good old mud can be theraputic in many ways :)

Day 2...

Activities kicked off in high gear on Sunday morning. By now things settled into a comfortable routine and everybody knew what to do and where to be.

After dinner, scouts and leaders were treated to a live rock concert by the popular band Five Crowns. After a day running around, it took a while for the kids to loosen up and get into the atmosphere.

The evening ended with a disco that really got things going...

In a few minutes we will be holding a Patrol Leaders' Council composed of two scouts from every Troop. The aim is to get feedback from the scouts themselves and see how we fared from their perspective.

The Global Village event gave scouts the opportunity to learn about scouting all around the world as well as the Lands of Adventure programme...

The crate-stacking event is a first for the campsite and it proved to be really popular with the participnts. Actually we had to disappoint a few scouts because we didn't have time to give everyone a go...

Activities this morning took some time to get going - but is was expected for the first programme session. However things went well and the scouts soon got into the spirit of things...

After Breakfast an duties we had flagbreak (u ftit avvizi tal-parrocca...)

Troops are not making their way to the activity areas to start this morning's adventure.

Setting up camp

All Troops have arrived on site and they are in various stages of setting up their campsite. So far everything has gone relatively smoothly.

We have a leaders meeting at 9pm after which night games will follow.

Welcome

Welcome to National Camp's Blog.

We plan to post the latest updates and photos of what's going on throughout this weekend... (time and internet connection permitting)

:)
